Maximum quality for a minimum price...

Royal Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Belgrade. Built during the last century, in the past hotel has a name Toplice. It is located in wide center of Belgrade very close to the Kalemegdan Park, which was established during the Roman Empire. Also the walking zone is very close to the hotel.
LOCATION

Royal Hotel is located in Belgrade's downtown, in the Kralja Petra street (former 7th of July), it has easy access to the important cultural monuments of the city. Only a few minutes walking distance are the National museum, National Theatre, the Knez Mihailova street (shopping center of Belgrade), Kalemegdan…

A dozen city transport lines start in the vicinity of the hotel, giving easy access to all parts of the city.
PROPERTY AMENITIES

* The reception area is small with the desk located on the right hand side as you enter. To the left is the bar area with seats. A staircase leads up to an upper level where there is another bar and eating area. There is a large mosaic on one wall, which is a central feature.

* Restaurant offer is very wide. Serbian kitchen, Italian, internationals, fish menu, chicken menu and very wide offer of wines and other drinks
ROOM AMENITIES

* Hotel with tree stars, 120 rooms, 200 beds. All room are with bathroom. All rooms have television, and many of them have a Air Conditioned.

* Bedrooms are small and basic. Decorated with white walls and dark wooden furniture, they are clean and provide all the amenities required of this standard of hotel.

"Good location/good value/beware the breakfast!"
I've stayed in Belgrade on a number of occasions and each time have chosen the Royal. Ok, it could maybe do with a bit of a refurbishment, but so could countless more expensive places (a lot more expensive places in fact). It's location is excellent and the rooms are clean. Given the extremely limited choice in the city for hotels in this price range it really is pretty good value and a bit of a blast from the past (in a good way of course). I would certainly disagree with the other review which rates it as 'terrible'. If you are expecting one of the better Hiltons then you may be in for a disappointment but it's all about being realistic in your expectations. We're talking about a 20-30 Euro per night hotel here. The breakfast though! Mmmm...not great. Unusual to get a really bad coffee in the balkans but they manage it here! Quite funny really.
